A spirited adventure awaits in the Smoky Mountains! Liquor making is a timeworn tradition that has been passed down through generations here in the Smokies. We continue this custom today at Junction 35 Spirits, producing and serving high quality, one-of-a-kind spirits, handcrafted specialty cocktails and even a full menu of delicious dishes at our restaurant. While other distilleries in the area tend to focus on one kind of spirit, Junction 35 specializes in all spirits. Continue reading as we break down the types of spirits you’ll find:
Whiskey
A Smoky Mountain staple, whiskey is beloved by visitors and locals alike in these parts! It’s made from a fermented mash of cereal grains and aged in wooden barrels, elevating whiskey’s flavor profile to Smoky Mountain heights. We produce both rye whiskey and bourbon. Rye is made up of at least 51% rye while bourbon uses at least 51% corn mash. In addition, Junction 35 offers several flavored whiskeys like Honey, Cinnamon, Caramel Apple, Black Cherry and Raspberry.
Moonshine
We like to think of moonshine as history served in a glass. Moonshine tells a story of life in the good ‘ol days, when the times were simpler but the drinks were just as strong. Moonshine is clear, unaged whiskey made from a corn base. It’s one of the most popular types of spirits you’ll find in the Smokies. We serve an extensive selection of flavored moonshines, from Sweet Tea to Peach, Orange Creamsicle, Apple Pie and more. We even handcraft some tasty cocktails using our moonshine at our distillery.
Vodka
When life gives you lemons, reach for the vodka! Vodka is a clear and colorless liquor made from fermented grains. The vodkas at Junction 35 are distilled 5 times over to make for smooth sips of premium taste. Our Original Vodka is crisp, refreshing and slightly sweet with aromas of sweet vanilla and cracked grain. Flavored vodkas include choices such as Citrus, Blueberry, Jalapeno, Vanilla and Bam Bam.
Tequila
Turn your Smoky Mountain vacation into an authentic fiesta with the help of Junction 35’s tequila. Tequila is a distilled beverage made from the fermentation of sugars in the agave plant. Our distillery produces 3 different varieties of tequila – Blanco, Reposado and Anejo – so there’s surely one to please your particular palate.
Gin
A gin-uine taste is ready to tickle your tastebuds! Gin is a distilled drink that gets much of its flavor from juniper berries. Our Handcrafted Gin is the perfect balance between sweet and dry with hints of florals, orange peels, juniper, citrus and spice. Our Barrel Aged Gin is barreled in our bourbon casks for 6 months to produce a flavor that’s both smooth and smoky.
Rum
Last but certainly not least is Junction 35’s Original Rum. Unlike other types of spirits, rum is made from fermenting and distilling sugarcane. Our Caribbean style white rum is made with all-natural sugarcane. This flavor combination of jasmine, honeysuckle, lemongrass, white pepper and coriander offers the ultimate refreshment!
